Hello world!
Thank you for visiting this page! I am Kenneth, and this is where I tell you a little about myself.
To be honest, my story is pretty average. Currently, I am a undergraduate student studying game design and development, and my purpose here on itch.io is to get a crack at producing something playable. You gotta start somewhere, right? One misconception people have about game development is that it is an entertaining process. I think playing games and making them are two very distinct experiences, and although making games is not as entertaining, it can still be enjoyable.
As part of my of my undergraduate program, I have recently begun development on a game in a somewhat professional setting. I have future plans for how this game will be developed, so I hope one day it will come to fruition!
Besides creating games for academic purposes, I've also created personal projects in my free time. I use the Unity game engine as it is what we use for class, but I also hope to extend to Unreal some day. In particular, I enjoy programming; I find being able to program something you intended to be a very rewarding experience.
By extension, digital game development also includes asset creation, and therefore I've also used Blender for some rudimentary 3D modelling. To me, 3D modelling feels like drawing in three dimensions. Here's my attempt at creating a robot:
Of course, as you can see, I'm no good at what I'm doing, and I hope to continue learning as my journey in game development continues.
When creating games, I often aim to place emphasis on certain game characteristics. In the program, we often refer to these characteristics as "vales". The values I find important in a game are:
That's pretty much everything there is about me. I hope my little self-introduction was sufficient and that my ongoing work is interesting to you. Its not much to show for, but hopefully I can make a positive impact on the game industry one day !
